Pedagogy
is the science and art of education, specifically instructional theory. An instructor develops conceptual knowledge and manages the content of learning activities in pedagogical settings. Modern pedagogy has been strongly influenced by the cognitivism of Piaget, 1926, 1936/1975; the social-interactionist theories of Bruner, 1960, 1966, 1971, 1986; and the social and cultural theories of Vygotsky, 1962. These theorists have laid a foundation for pedagogy where sequential development of individual mental processes—such as recognizing, recalling, analyzing, reflecting, applying, creating, understanding, and evaluating—are scaffolded. Students learn as they internalize the procedures, organization, and structures encountered in social contexts as their own schemata. The learner requires assistance to integrate prior knowledge with new knowledge. Children must also develop metacognition, or the ability to learn how to learn. (Wikipedia)

Video 3 Reflection
I was wondering after watching the video and seen how many hours children are spend at school with teachers and schools friends (around 900) and how much more they spend at home ( around 1200) and even incredibly more in an cyber world (around 1900) using their PCs, video games, smartphones and so on!!!
Almost double the time kids are influenced in their development and behavior by a virtual world and its effect.
That means for a teacher he/she has to to work twice as hard to get an influence on the child that is positive AND long lasting for the personal and professional development of the child during the small classroom hours.
What additional (positive/negative) effect can be achieved when a western teacher teaches in a developing country with his/her teacher identity developed by the west, with its western influenced learning strategies and methods and with the western background that he/she brings with?
